The conference proceedings of the 3rd Berlin driver modeling symposium 2010 that took place from 6-17-2010 to 6-18-2010 in Berlin, was now released by VDI press under the title “Zwischen kinematischen Menschmodellen und dynamisch-kognitiven Verhaltensmodellen” ( “Between kinematic human models and dynamic-cognitive behavior models”).
Driver models are an irreplaceable tool for car development processes, for road or traffic planning. The modeled aspects cover a range from the corporality of the driver and his kinetic maneuverability to his ability to handle the car and regulate it through to complex behavior in a diverse traffic environment. For a few years now, specific research approaches are added to it that consider the activity of driving as paradigmatic for dynamic behavior, thus developing cognitive-psychological motivated models. Additionally, “autonomous driving”-approaches can be considered driver models, as well. The 3rd Berlin driver modeling symposium reflects upon this broad range of topics, and also includes experiences with the utilization of human models in aeronautics for the first time. The conference proceedings of the 3rd Berlin driver modeling symposium 2010 can be purchased via VDI press at the price of 61€ . ( available in German only) |
