Safety and ReliabilityHFC offers services for the optimization of safety and reliability to the high-reliability industries, including:
Our approach is based on the consideration of the complex interactions between groups of people and technological systems or the organizations in their surroundings. Confidentiality, competence and experience are the basic principles of our work with security issues. In a cooperative project between Germany and Israel regarding civil security research ( lead by the "Physikalisch-Technischen Bundesanstalt PTB" (Federal Institute of Physics and Metrology)), HFC and the alliance partners attended the detection of hazardous substances in cargo. The goal of the alliance project ACCIS is the construction of a demonstration system for the automated detection of explosives and radioactive material. To that end, a novel fluoroscopic procedure was researched and developed with the goal of an automatized interpretation. The deployment possibilities of such a technology for airports or at border crossings are being researched, for example thorugh analysis of the legal framework conditions and the acceptance of the procedure. In another project called TUSIMA (TU nnel SI mulation and human factor A nalysis ), the influence of tunnel geometry onto human feeling and behavior was studied. A model of human behavior was implemented, in relation to consequences for security matters. The tunnel simulator that was realized in the course of this project is unique in its focusing on the human being as a safety factor. It provides ample new opportunities for safety-optimized planning of tunnels. |
